Requirements for course work and theory at the Faculty of Medicine (30 credits)

Compulsary courses (8,5 - 11,5 credits) must be done before the halftime control

  1. Introduction to Doctoral Studies, 1,5 credit. This course is web-based and required for admission to other courses
  2. (Introduction to Scientific Research, 9 credits. Instead ofcourse 2 youmayselectcourses3-5.
  3. Research Ethics and Philosophy of Science, 2 credits
  4. Scientific Presentation, 2 credits
  5. Introduction to Biostatistics, 3 credits
  6. Compulsory courses are also, if the project so requires,Knowledge of Laboratory Animals, 3credits, alternativtheory part 1.5 credit) andradiation course.

In thatcase,the courseplacesnotbeenmade availablegrantedexemption will be done from this requirement

Can consist of literature assignments, seminar activities including the postgraduate student’s own seminars, presentations at congresses etc. Postgraduate programmes and clinical specialist programmes should be kept apart, although a postgraduate student should be permitted to include credit points from specialist training courses (SK courses in Swedish) after assessment by the supervisor.

  • Coursesimilarcongressmay be reportedas a courseby the supervisorand givepoints in relationto theactual time.
  • Participationat theseminar1-2hours per week,about 20 -40 hoursper semesterprovides0.5credits/ semester.Presentation atseminarprovides0.5credit.
  • There isno obstacle tothe studentto gather more than30 credits(15 creditsfor a licentiate)
