Course dates: The course runs from July 8 to July 27. On July 8 we will provide you with a syllabus and course reading list, including readings we expect you to do before we convene in Cody. Please plan to arrive in Cody by 5:00 pm on July 17. Our first class meeting will be Thursday, July 18 at 9:00. The course ends at noon on July 27.

Course fee and scholarships: The course fee of $250 covers lodging (see below) and dinners for the 10 days of the field class. Scholarships are available for American Indian students through Judith Antell, UW American Indian Studies Program. Further support may be available through the Multicultural Resource Center or your department.

Transportation: You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from Cody. We will provide transportation to the field sites from Cody. We will provide you with a class roster so that you can arrange for carpooling if desired.

Lodging: We have reserved cabins and campsites at the Ponderosa Campground, 1815 8th Street in Cody. Cabins have 3 cots/beds each. If you choose to camp, you will need to bring your own equipment (see list). Equipment can be rented from the UW Outdoor Program. If you choose to stay in a cabin you will still need to bring your own sleeping bag or bed linens and pillow. The campground has men’s and women’s showers and bathrooms.

Meals: We will prepare evening meals family style at a location close to the campground, and will welcome your help with cooking and cleaning up. You should be prepared to fix your own breakfast at the campground and a lunch to take with you to the field. There is a grocery store near the campground.
