While finishing with an over-all record of 22-4, this record also allowed the team to participate in the 6A final four state tournament for the second straight year. During our 2014 season, the Western Branch team won the Monitor-Merrimac Conference 2 regular season title as well as the Monitor-Merrimac Conference 2 tournament title. The 2014 team also went on to win its second regional title, as well as their second State Title. Western Branch Baseball finished the 2014 season with an over-all record of 26-2, ranked #14 nationally by MaxPreps, and #23 nationally by Baseball America. The 2015 team had six players continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level. Our success would be impossible without the consistent support of our local community. We appreciate the support of local businesses such as yours, and we make every effort to recognize your contributions. We identify your supportat our fundraising events, and we encourage our families and ours fans to show their appreciation by giving their business to local companies who make donations to Western Branch baseball.
Due to contributions from companies like yours, our Western Branch baseball teams have been able to fund many activities for over 100 area youth who participate in our high school-level programs. Participation in sports provides opportunities for leadership and socialization, as well as the development of skills for handling success and failure. Our programs provide valuable lessons including teamwork, sportsmanship, and hard work. Student-athletes learn discipline, build self-confidence, and develop the skills to handle competitive situations. These are all qualities that foster success later in life and help these young men become responsible and productive citizens in our Western Branch community.
While we understand the economy has been tough on all these past few years, we are once again at a crucial fundraising time of year and ask for your support. The athletic budget for all high school sports in Chesapeake has been eliminated, making your commitment instrumental to our youth’s continued success. Our annual Baseball Social event is scheduled for Jan 23, 2016. Thanks to the generosity of companies like yours, we are able to host more than 300 people each year and raise a minimum goal of $10,000 to fund our annual program. The social event will include a raffle and a silent auction, and we are asking for donations – large or small. All donations and contributions should be tax-deductible and a copy of the letter from the IRS will be provided for tax purposes upon request. We encourage all donors to provide us with marketing and advertising materials to be included, and on display, at our "appreciation station".
Your donations will not only enable the Western Branch baseball program to continue, but will enable the coaching staff to focus our ongoing efforts of producing mature and outstanding leaders with the youngmen in our community.
Thank you in advance for your support and your generous contributions.
Best Regards,
