· Activity: Mobile of Mayella’s feelings
· Supplies: Sticks of various sizes, tape, markers, index cards, string, scissors
· Procedure: Give each child 14 index cards and 7 sticks,
and 28 pieces of string (27 short, 1 long) Attach 2 cards to the end of each stick with a short piece of string. Then attach each card to the middle of another stick (with the cards on it) so it looks like the model shown below.
On the 2 top cards, write down 2 feelings (one on each card) of how Mayella felt during her trial. Going down, describe her feelings more in depth, being very specific on the 3rd row of cards.
· Have everyone present their model and have a class discussion on how the Ewells must feel.
