SUBJECT: 2017 Patefield-Green Memorial Scholarships
The scholarshipoffers $500 to four outstanding High School Seniorswho reside within the Lewis and Clark Natural Resources District (LCNRD) boundary. We encourageall seniors who qualify to submit an application. The Patefield – Green Scholarship is available to students who intend to pursue an agricultural related career and plan to return to the area and help local communities to conserve and protect our natural resources. The scholarship must go towards at least one year of study in an agriculture related field at a trade school, college, or university.
Applications will be judged based on the following criteria:
1. How and where the education will be used
2. Natural Resources Awareness and Preservation
3. Individual Initiative
4. Community Involvement
5. Pursuit of Agriculturally related career
6. Intent to return to Northeast Nebraska following completion of education
The application deadline is Friday March3, 2017. Applicants are required to complete the enclosed application form and write a short summary providing the information requested at the bottom of application. A completed application and summary must be submitted to the Lewis & Clark Natural Resource District office by March 3, 2017.
Copy the enclosed application form as needed for the applicants to complete, additional application forms are available on line at under the “Info & Education” heading. A map indicating District boundaries is enclosed to help determine if a student is a resident of the LCNRD.
Applications will be reviewed and selection of scholarship recipients made by the Lewis & Clark NRD directors at the April 20hboard meeting. Scholarships will be awarded at graduation.
