/ THE VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
This Volunteer Agreement describes the arrangement between Phoenix Futures and you. We wish to assure you of our appreciation of your volunteering with us and will do the best we can to make your volunteer experience with us enjoyable and rewarding.
Role Title: / Family Support Volunteer
Supervised by: / Family Support Worker
Role Purpose: / To work alongside the Family Support Worker in Prison Visitors Centers working with Visitor Centre and Prison Staff and other services to identify and priorities referrals to the service.
To offer practical and emotional support to families where appropriate.
Provide pre and post release advice, support and onward referral to other services.

ROLE PROFILE
Main Duties
  1. To work alongside the family support worker to provide a tailored service which meets the individual needs of families and loved ones
  2. To generate and complete referrals to Family Support Service
  3. To provide emotional and practical support to families and signpost to relevant services where appropriate
  4. To provide information about treatment options in prisons and the community
  5. To provide drug and alcohol information and educational resources
  6. To promote integration with the families, Building Futures Team, prison based healthcare and rehabilitation services as part of a continuum of care
  7. To support families with ongoing telephone support
  8. To promote partnership working
  9. Undertake administration duties as required
  10. Attend and participate in training as and when required
  11. Work to Phoenix Futures’ policy and values in equality and diversity

  13. be prepared to undertake appropriate training
  14. carry out their tasks to the best of your ability
  15. discuss concerns with the appropriate person/manager
  16. consult the appropriate manager, if in need of help and guidance
  17. report sickness to the appropriate person/manager
  18. attend and participate fully in supervision sessions
  19. discuss with supervisor any task you do not feel comfortable with
  20. have read and will abide by the expenses policy
  21. refrain from the use of alcohol before and during volunteer hours.

  11. Promote the health, safety and welfare of all volunteers whilst undertaking their volunteering activities.
  12. Reimburse any approved out of pocket expenses.

This agreement is binding in honour only, is not intended to be a legally binding contract between us and may be cancelled at any time at the discretion of either party. Neither of us intend any employment relationship to be created either now or at any time in the future.
