TO ENTER THE SECURED BUILDING

PLEASE NOTE – ALL SLEEP CENTER PATIENTS MUST ENTER THROUGH THE GARAGE TO ALLOW SECURITY TO NOTIFY SLEEP CENTER STAFF OF YOUR ARRIVAL. IF YOU PARK ELSEWHERE ON THE PROPERTY THERE MAY BE A SIGNIFICANT DELAY IN YOUR ABILITY TO GAIN ENTRANCE TO THE SLEEP CENTER.

To ensure the safety of patients and staff, these security measures have been implemented.

Please read the following carefully:

1)  Follow the enclosed directions to get to the under-building garage.

2)  Push the red button labeled “PUSH TO CALL” on the emergency phone located in the box just prior to the gates. This will call security at Community Hospital and they will be able to see as well as hear you.

3)  Security will answer “Good evening, Security. May I help you?” or words to that effect.

4)  Please identify yourself by name and date of birth and state the reason you are there (for example, “I am here for a Sleep Study”)

5)  Security will check your name against the list provided for them by Sleep Center staff earlier in the day and confirm that you have an appointment for that night.

6)  Security will then raise the arms of the gate to allow entrance into the garage.

7)  You will be reminded to use the elevator to your right as you enter so, for your convenience, you may want to park near that elevator.

8)  Once you are in the elevator, push “2” to get to the second floor.

9)  Security will also call the Sleep Center staff to alert them that you are on your way up.

10)  Please use the call box located outside the Sleep Center door to let a Sleep Center staff member know you have arrived.

11)  If you have any questions, please call the Sleep Center at 649-7210 prior to your appointment.

12) Please note that our facility at Ryan Ranch is a secured facility and your comfort as well as your safety is important to us. Please let us know of any questions and/or concerns you may have so we can better address the issue to make your appointment as pleasant as possible.

PATIENT PICK UP – If someone will be picking you up in the morning, please have them push the “PUSH TO CALL” button to identify themselves and have them tell security your name and that they are there to pick you up. Security will then call the Sleep Center and let them know that your ride has arrived. They will be directed as to where to park and, if necessary, security will remotely unlock the elevator to allow them access to the 2nd floor.

Please check your room before you leave in the morning.

Items which are commonly left at the Sleep Disorders Center include pillows, slippers, articles of clothing, books and DVD’s.

Per Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula Lost and Found policy, items left at the Sleep Disorders Center will be held for a period of 90 days and then will be discarded.

As soon as possible after the item is found, you will be contacted to alert you to the fact that the item has been found and ask you to arrange for pick-up.

Please call 649-7210 to arrange for pick-up as soon as possible.

Items of value (such as jewelry) will be taken to the Security Department at CHOMP and can be picked up at the main hospital.
