Golden Eagle Ergonomics

After a day of work at your computer, do you notice times when your shoulder or neck muscles are tingling? Or, perhaps your back is sore. These are indications that change to your routine is needed. Golden Eagle Ergonomics (GEE) and the staff at Risk Management, Environmental Safety & Health (RM/EHS) are here to help.

GEE is our on-line resource to assist you to set up your workstation correctly and to follow your progress were you to report any symptoms. This application allows you to assess, train and follow-up at a pace and timing that you choose. Email the RM/EHS Office at to alert us that you intend to take the course and to ensure that we can follow your progress.

GEE is a workstation assessment program that takes your individual needs into account. The first part of the program is a short assessment tool. You will be asked about the various equipment in your workstation and any symptoms, if any, that you may be experiencing. The program will respond with expert advice and suggestions for changes to equipment, setup, and working techniques which can help. As your equipment or symptoms change, you can input those changes and the program can respond with additional advice or suggestions.

With GEE, you are able to tap into a large knowledge database that can assess your entire workstation. It can track your preferences, problems and symptoms as you work toward resolving issues. However, you do not need to have issues to use this program. GEE teaches proper posture, helpful ways to adjust your furniture and ways to organize your workstation. With knowledge and practice, injury is avoidable and comfort is achievable! For those with workstation problems, let’s get help before things get worse.
