GOALS

To create an environment that will help players develop and grow as individuals.

To help guide players along their educational pathways.

To provide a safe and engagingcommunity-based club in which to play and of which to be proud.

PERSONAL & TEAM GROWTH COMPONENTS

  • High school continuity all year round to include local high school and Celtics development theme.
  • Local, stable and harmonious environment.
  • The appropriate competition level.
  • A great learning environmentto be involved in grades 9-12 (Celtics culture).
  • Letters of recommendation upon request.
  • Individual player mentoring program (outline below)

Mentoring and Leadership

The mentoring program is optional and is designed to help develop life skills. The concept is to aid highschool players develop their leadership skills, communication ability, time management, planning skills and promote general life lessons.

Players will be partnered with a younger Celtics player and will become their mentor throughout the fall season.

This should include but not limited to:

  • Two one-on-one sessions with your youth partner, over the course of the season.
  • Option to become a referee for the Club (At the Grass Hopper facility).
  • Bi-weekly emails to see how they are doing, how they are playing, if they are having fun, etc.
  • Mentor players will also create a Bio that they will send out to the youth player they are mentoring.
  • Watch at least one game during the season.

By providing these opportunities Celtics hope that highschool players will become a more self-assured student athlete, by equipping them with the tools and confidence to engage in a variety of situations with multiple audiences.

College Guest Speakers and Clinics

A college coach will come to the club to speak to the highschool players and will run sessions for all the players. This will give Celtics players a look into playing at college and what it takes to succeed at that level. We will investigate potential college visits to local schools. We will offer the opportunity to learn about the different schools and opportunities through NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA & NCCAA. Highschool players will attend professional soccer games together, to promote camaraderie within all ages of highschool, both boys and girls.

College Recruitment Support

This part of the program will:

  • Assist with writing personal resumes.
  • Help as the highschool players start the search for colleges.
  • Help players focus on what to look for when looking into different options.
  • Assist with how to contact colleges.
  • Teach the players various ways to get noticed by colleges.
  • Offer college visits, games, training etc.
  • Academics First.
