Duties & Responsibilities
- To provide excellent and outstanding hospitality, ensuring the best possible level of customer service at all times
- To be able to carry out all operational duties within the various departments of the unit to the required standard
- To assume day-to-day responsibility for the operational management of the unit as rostered.
- To strive to achieve a culture that is totally focused on the delivery of the best possible level of customer service.
- To support the interpretation of Tenpin corporate strategyand core values
- To take personal accountability for designated department/area of the unit as designated by the General Manager
- To deputise in the absence of the General, Deputy Manager or Front of House Manager
- To respond to and act upon customer comments made on a daily basis and feedback to management
- To strive to achieve a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude
- To constantly be alert to all sales opportunities
- To be aware of and actively sell the company core products to customers
- To be familiar with all products within all areas of the unit
- To consistently offer products and services to customers to increase sales
- To have a working knowledge of all promotions within the site and actively sell to customers
- To be able to demonstrate an understanding of the business and be able to implement short term objectives
- To use all stocks and supplies in an appropriate manner to minimise wastage
- To support the process of monitoring all financial targets
- To meet specified targets as set by the Management team
- To report all rostering issues to Management, to ensure that appropriate staffing levels are maintained
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by any member of the Management team
Customer Service
- To maintain quality of product and unit appearance.
- To identify customer needs and promote customer recognition throughout the unit
- To strive to constantly achieve operating standards
- To regularly and systematically check standards and identify action for improvement
- To have a working knowledge of all aspects of the business and maintain constant involvement of self in tasks
- To respond to customer comments and feedback in line with Company policy
- To encourage a proactive culture to minimise all customer complaints
- To promote an entertaining environment at all times
Communication
- To attend and participate fully in all team meetings as requested by the Management team
- To effectively cascade all relevant information to team members
- To understand and utilise all administrative practices and systems as appropriate
- To have a working knowledge of all site computer systems
- To regularly and consistently report all relevant information to the management team
Company Image
- To ensure that own and team appearance is maintained to a high professional level at all times
- To take personal accountability for the adherence to all Company policies and procedures
- To take personal accountability for ensuring that all team members are aware of all Company policies and procedures and the importance of adhering to them
- To ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to minimise or prevent loss or damage to Company assets
- To ensure the security of all cash and stock and to maintain the safety and security of staff at all times
Statutory Requirements
- To take personal accountability for and be conversant with all statutory obligations
- To ensure that teams are suitably trained, comply with and are constantly alert to all risks
- Ensure fair and equal treatment to all individuals in line with legislation and Company policy
People Management
- To lead by example, encouraging all team members to participate and work together
- To supervise employees within relevant department/area on a day to day basis
- To monitor, encourage and participate towards a positive team atmosphere by positively and publicly recognising success and achievements by any member of the team
- To set relevant, fair and consistent targets, KPI’s and objectives for team members in line with overall company strategy.
- To provide constructive feedback to improve team performance
- To represent and feedback staff opinions and views at a higher level
- Ensure liaison with Human Resources Department to ensure effective people management
Training & Development
- Ensure that all unit management support, encourage and deliver training as appropriate to all team members
- Take ownership for own personal development and support personal development of team members
- To actively promote a training culture within the unit
