What does the programme involve?

Starting in 2018, the two-year programme comprises four rotations, each lasting six months and each increasing in the responsibility and challenge it offers. You could be working on business process change, testing business solutions, implementing cloud-based technologies, developing mobile applications and lots more besides.

With the flexibility to tailor the programme to your own interests, you’ll build expertise in all facets of IT, from project management and business analysis to application maintenance and design. You’ll also interact with internal customers in functions across the business, giving you invaluable insights into AstraZeneca and the pharma industry, and the chance to influence the way decisions are made.

Through a variety of training and development initiatives combined with on-the-job experience, we’ll help you develop core professional, technical and leadership skills. You’ll be assigned a mentor who has the credibility and business experience to support your growth. There will be frequent opportunities to review your progress and discuss your placement options, to keep your career on track. And you’ll be able to build a strong network of contacts. At the end of the programme, you’ll be considered for a permanent role at AstraZeneca.

Essential requirements:

-Graduates in information science, computer science, engineering, information systems management, biotech or other IT-related disciplines or those who simply have a passion for technology and who have completed their first Bachelors degreein 2017, or are due to graduate by September 2018

-Passion to work in pharmaceuticals and healthcare, real desire to make a difference to patients

-Quick and agile thinker who can quickly understand our environment

-Strong business acumen, leadership potential and change management capabilities

-Confidence to express your opinions and ideas to drive innovation and fresh thinking

-Valid passport and willingness to travel if the rotation requires it

-Fluency in English.
