POSITION OVERVIEW

The Works Enablement Branch is responsible for delivering effective, efficient and quality support services for ActewAGL and its related businesses. The Store Person is responsible to ensure the business objectives relating to warehousing and distribution are achieved.

Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, the Store Person is responsible for:

  • All material processing (customer service, pick and packing, shipping, cable management, housekeeping, receipting, cable management, counting and distribution) aspects of the Works Enablement Branch.
  • The delivery of friendly, responsive and efficient customer service whilst improving safety standards
  • Providing section support as directed.

Your duty to your employer includes an obligation to carry out your work in a way that does not put ActewAGL in breach of any legislative or regulatory obligations. ActewAGL will have responsibility to provide suitable training and to make you aware of the legal obligations relevant to your work. Under the ActewAGL Always Safe system, this position is required to participate fully in all aspects of health, safety and environment management within ActewAGL, including risk assessment, hazard identification and control and incident reporting.

Reporting relationships are identified below. The size of the team may vary from time to time as determined by organisational needs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work jointly and cooperate with peers and other branch staff to assist in achieving branch business plan, goals and objectives.
  • Deliver assigned tasks through to completion.
  • Take actions to ensure compliance of Always Safe system and a safe workplace.

Ensure ongoing compliance of the Corporate Emergency, Health, Safety and Quality management systems.

  • As a member of the warehouse team, participate in receipting, unloading/loading, housekeeping, picking, packing, dispatch and distribution services to ensure the operational activities add value to ActewAGL.
  • Employ knowledge and competencies to the full range of warehousing activities within the Works Enablement Branch.
  • Process all warehouse transactions within a material management system as detailed in branch and organisational policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Conduct stock counts and identify/report discrepancies and assist with investigations of ActewAGL held inventory.
  • Correctly use all appropriate tools, devices, materials, personal protective equipment and pollution controls.
  • Undertake project work as directed.
  • Participate in an on call roster to provide stores support to ActewAGL operations during after hour periods.
  • Maintain warehouse documentation as detailed in procedures and work instructions.
  • Immediately report to Warehouse Team Leader or Supply Manager, all injuries, illnesses and incidents causing environmental harm and near misses, no matter how minor.
  • Give and receive regular feedback on performance.
  • Participate in performance and development reviews in accordance with corporate personal performance and development planning (PPDP) cycle.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement process and business improvement initiatives and continually improve the way the warehouse operates.

  • Warehousing and distribution competencies to level AQF 2
  • Hold appropriate licences as required to perform tasks within the Works Enablement Branch including;
  • Medium Rigid Truck
  • Forklift
  • Knowledge of modern warehouse concepts
  • Competent in the use and operation of PC’s, including Microsoft Office applications Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and use of the Internet
  • Broad knowledge/experience in all aspects of receipting, warehousing, issuing and distribution processes within a large modern warehousing environment
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of computerised inventory systems
