Title:Time Bank (skills exchange) and Social Events Coordinator
Responsible to:Depression Alliance Chief Executive
Hours:28 hours per week (4 days)
Salary:NJC pt 26: £19,030 (pro rata £25,487)
Plus pension contribution
Contract 2 year contract
Base:Croydon IAPT: Psychological Therapies and Wellbeing Service, Wickham Park House, Bethlem Royal Hospital, Monks Orchard Road, Beckenham, Kent BR3 3BX
Main Purpose of the post
The post holder will have responsibility for developing and coordinating Social events and a Time Bank for people with depression in Croydon. This innovative project will support people with depression to maintain recovery and well-being by developing a strong local network of like-minded people.
The Time Bank & Social Events Coordinator will be employed and line managed by Depression Alliance but integrated into the Psychological Therapies team taking referrals from them, GP’s and other sources including self referrals.
Principal Responsibilities
- To support people using the project in the development and running of social events, interest groups and exercise events.
- To advertise the project with local services, including GP’s and develop services based on local need.
With support from the DA team to develop new services and encourage new members to join.
- To maintain close links with local voluntary sector agencies
Coordinate Time Bank swaps between members at flexible times across the week, including evenings and weekend as appropriate
- Update the internet-based Time Bank software to record information and print out regular statements for Time Bank members
To ensure that information is recorded effectively on the database
To ensure the events, groups and Time Bank are run safe and effectively.
Depression Alliance
- To meet regularly with the Depression Alliance staff team
- To contribute to Depression Alliance’s strategies and initiatives.
- To carry out duties with due regard to Depression Alliance’s policies.
- To attend supervision and annual appraisals with the Chief Executive
- Any other duties reasonably required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications/ education/ training
A degree or equivalent qualification is expected but experience is also recognised.
Experience
Essential
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar environment or position
Experience of working in an innovative and enthusiastic manner

Local knowledge of Croydon and surrounding area
