TITLE:Temporary Executive Officer (Registration Team)

Temporary for 6 months

(possibility of extension - cover for maternity leave)

PAY SPINE:NJC Points 16–25 (£16,969–£22,212)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

Reporting to the Registration Team Leader, the Registration Officer will be responsible for the input and amendment of data, assessment of qualifications and the general administration of the Council’s computerised Registration database. The post holder will respond to queries from teachers, employers and the general public, and will assist with the preparation of reports and analysis of data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities outlined below are intended as a guide to the main elements of the post. They may be amended by the line manager in consultation with the post-holder.

  1. To deal with registration queries received by telephone, email, letter, fax, etc from teachers, schools, employing authorities and other outside bodies.
  1. To carry out routine input and update of registration data.
  1. To assist the team leader in undertaking analysis and preparing reports.
  1. To assist the team leader in the approval of qualifications processes leading to registration.
  1. To assist with the annual billing and registration fee collection processes.
  1. To be responsible for maintaining the Registration team’s filing systems.
  1. To ensure that the Registration team maintains sufficient stocks of stationery and publications.
  1. To comply with the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
  1. To take reasonable care of him/herself and others whilst at work in respect of matters relating to Health and Safety, and to co-operate with GTCNI in carrying out the Statutory Health and Safety duty placed upon it.
  1. To comply with the Council’s IT security policy and any reasonable procedures arising from it.
  1. To comply with all the Council’s record management policies specifically data protection and freedom of information and any reasonable procedures arising from them.
  1. To carry out other relevant duties as may be required.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5 GCSE's Grade C or above (including English and Maths) or (equivalent)
  • 2 GCE A levels (or equivalent)
  • RSA II Typing Word Processing (or equivalent)

Essential Experience

  • A minimum of one year’s experience of working within a busy office environment
  • Experience of maintaining and updating databases

Essential Knowledge

  • Strong IT user skills – MS Office

Desirable Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or HNC/D in business or IT

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of preparation of billing and fee collection processes
