Dear Colleague,
The Newcastle Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) Learning and Development Committee have a vacancy for a representative of the Voluntary and Community sector. The Learning and Development Committee is a multi-agency sub-committee of the Newcastle Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) tasked with providing a strategic oversight of safeguarding adults training across the city on behalf of the board.
The role of the committee is to implement and review the NSAB Learning and Development strategy, develop a work-plan which reflects the objectives of the strategy, develop and maintain structures for an organised and co-ordinated approach to multi-agency learning and development and to ensure that key lessons from local and national serious case reviews are embedded into learning opportunities.
The Learning and Development Committee is chaired by Carole Southall of Northumbria University, and has a multi-agency membership including Newcastle City Council, Your Homes Newcastle, Tyne and Wear Care Alliance, Northumbria Probation Trust, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust and Northumbria Police. The committee meets bi-monthly.
As a voluntary and community sector representative, part of the role will be to act as a conduit for voluntary and community sector views, to ask what the implications of the work of the Learning and Development Committee are for the sector and consider how awareness of safeguarding adults procedures can be increased across the sector.
If you are interested in this position or would like to find out more then please contact James Steward (NSAB Learning and Development Officer) on 0191 2788192
Kind regards,
James Steward
