DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

TITLE:Help 40 ugandan poor girls build enterprise skills.

The purpose of this project is to train vulnerable teenage youth girls to get a skill for a job for those who dropped out of school either due to pregnancy, orphan hood or lack of school fees before getting a professional job in skill like hair dressing, cosmetology, and tailoring.

Such categories of youth are so vulnerable and up to 70% of the above target groupyou find in the rural setting do not complete secondary schools. Such youth lack skills, which can earn them a living and end up being redundant a busing their human rights and end up being in peer groups which attract HIV/AIDS to them, some end up stealing thus being killed and others imprisoned. These youth who lack skills do not generate income to sustain them selves and the quality of life of their families end up being miserable. For those young girls who have dropped out of school due to pregnancy, they fail to look after their babies due to lack of income.

Also the female teenage youth of today in Mityana and Mubende District have been studying without practical skills which can earn a living thus end up being un employed due to lack of practical skills. They end up being job seekers , thus we want to train them to be job makers.

By partnering with Mityana community school of cosmetology we full fill the motto to “go small scale industry”

Among other problem we face in doing the project is to equip our school with essentials tools and giving youthpracticals to learn the skills. Such tools include tailoring machines, saloon machines, phone repairing tools.

Also as the youth are poor they lack school fees to meet the training costs. We lack enough money to feed these children especially for this project we shall have for one year.

Another problem is to provide them with start up tools for them to start their small utility out lets like tailoring machines, saloon tool kits and others.

In this project we shall identify 40 female teenage youth who are in categories of vulnerability either have dropped out due to pregnancy, orphan hood or lack of school fees and train them for one year. This will enable them to economically empower themselves in the future.

SOLUTION TO THE CHALLENGES:

By partnering with Mityana Community School of Cosmetology, we are going to train the identified 40 orphans and vulnerable female teenage youth in Cosmetology, Hair Dressing, Tailoring for one year. This will make these youth economically empowered and they will be able to earn a living for their lives. Some of them will be able to support their fellow vulnerable orphaned siblings in terms of school fees.
