Vision 2015 / myNKY

Feature Presenter: Kristen Sunday

  • The myNKY initiative is revisioning the goals of Vision 2015, with feedback from the community.
  • Lining up a 5 year plan in coordination with Agenda 360 and Bold Goals with United Way (both programs based out of the Greater Cincinnati area)
  • All are encouraged to visit mynky.org to play the game, take the polls and give feedback
  • May 2014 is roughly the deadline for responses, but it may be extended

News Desk Update –Help Desk

  • Gabbi Lanza presented information about who can use and what can be done on the Help Desk
  • Members and non-members can request to upload flyers to the site, to get more information

Committee Updates

Food Committee – Paul Gottbrath, chair

  • Giving Fields (a farm in Melbourne, KY that grows fresh produce for area food banks and pantries) now has access to a greenhouse by Silver Grove schools
  • Contact Jen Steele for information on Giving Fields; Sarah Celenza is on maternity leave
  • Postal Workers Food Drive is coming up on May 10 – many SNA pantries will get food from this drive
  • Please return fridge and freezer surveys to Gabbi Lanza ASAP

Work Supports Committee – Correy Eimer, co-chair

  • The committee was granted $10,000 to use on technology for online benefits enrollment
  • Identified ten agencies to participate; 6 confirmed. Now coordinating with agencies on when they will get technology to support the project for SNAP and kynect
  • Will be training agencies on the enrollment process now through April

Executive Committee – Correy Eimer

  • At February’s meeting, distributed SNA documents
  • Thanks to Karen and Brandy for planning the meetings

Impact and Marketing Committee – Gabbi Lanza

  • In final stages of editing a brochure and several other materials
  • Considering starting a Hospitality Crew to help set up monthly SNA meetings

Furniture Task Force – Andy Brunsman

  • Narrowed focus to beds
  • Creating a list of furniture providers who would donate to our group

Pathways Work Group – Tony Aloise

  • The work group is on hold; if you have ideas on a Pathway document you would like to be created, please contact Tony

Member Announcements

  • FreestoreFoodbank Leadership Initiative starts April 9
  • Open enrollment for health insurance ends on March 31 – NorthKey has kynectors at each location once per week
