Procedure (teach, show):
- Sit the class down in a circle for a classroom meeting
- Talk about the Bronco way of being respectful in the classroom (highlight above mentioned criteria).
- Discuss examples of potential situations to role play ( disagreement with peer, frustration with directions) . Highlight specific skills like I messages.
- Pick students to role play situations make sure to do the right way and the wrong way for generalization and to check for learning.
HALLWAYS
Respectful Hallway
- Walk quietly so that others can continue learning
- Wait for directions before moving the line forward
- Keep hands and feet off the wall
- Greet others with a smile and wave

Responsible Hallway

Safe Hallway

- Walk on the right side of the hall/third square

- Allow for personal space of others
Procedure:
- Review with students expectations in the hallway
- Practice walking through the hallway demonstrating these expectations.
- Practice having someone walk by and responding appropriately
- If needed give visuals of personal space (arms in front as if holding a beach ball)
- Practice what to do if someone cuts in line
- Practice how to get a drink
Cafeteria
Respectful:
- Follow adult directions first time given
- Eat only my food
- Clean up after self
- Responsible:
- Take care of your lunch
- Get all materials that I need before taking a seat
- Accept consequences
- Wait to be asked to leave
Safe:
- Keep food on my tray
- Ask an adult before leaving the table

Procedure:
- Practice voice level zero
- As a class go to cafeteria and practice lunch/ food line procedure.
- Role play what to do in the event someone asks to eat another students food.
- Practice cleaning up after self and following procedure for clean up.
- Practice what to do if you need somethingsuch as condiments
- Practice procedures for leaving the cafeteria (line up, getting coats etc)
Bathrooms

Procedure:
- As a class practice bathroom procedure of washing hands w/1 pump of soap, using 1 paper towel and throwing paper towel away
- Practice procedure for voice level zero
Playground

- Keep rules the same during the game
- Follow game rules

- Use appropriate language – no put downs
- Line up when the whistle blows
Responsible

- Allow others to resolve their own conflicts
- Report unresolved problems to recess teacher

Procedure:
- Classroom meeting discuss above objectives.
- Go out side (or if too cold do an indoor game) and play a short game that includes all students
- Discuss what it means to be a team player.
- Role play examples relevant to class that involve being respectful on the playground and appropriate ways to respond when someone is not being respectful on the play ground.
- Practice I messages.
