Using homework maps, practice giving directions to a partner to places of interest in your area (supermarket, clothing stores, music stores, shoe stores, restaurants)

Change of pace: Me gustan todas

Situation1 – Help a lost Spanish-speaker trying to find….in your town.

You have recently finished your homework for Spanish class and know how to give directions in Spanish. As you walk home from school, you run into a Spanish-speaking boy that is trying to find his sister. Find out where he needs to go and give him directions.

Questions to think about – Where are we? What is the safest way? What is the easiest way?

You got out of school early and when you went home, your mom wasn’t home. You knew your sister’s school was nearby so you started walking to her school. You got lost, but as you walk, you see a kid that goes to your sister’s school. Approach him and ask for dirrections to your sister’s school.

Questions to think about? – Where am I? Where am I going? How do I tell the student?

Situation2 - Lost in a foreign country trying to find…Ask a native.

Students will organize the desks to form city blocks. Students will divide into partners. The visuals of buildings will be placed face down on the desk. One partner will go outside. The partner inside the class will have to direct the partner who was outside to that visual that the partner requests to visit. When done correctly, the student will arrive at the visual chosen and the correct building will be turned face-up.
