Title:Mobile and Portable Buildings Association (MPBA) Pre-delivery

Inspection and Testing Training –

1 day re-assessment / standardisation

Duration:1 day

Aims:To re-affirm, standardise, and / or provide the underpinning knowledge and practical skills to enable MPBA member company employees to undertake the pre-delivery inspection and testing of a portable building (Cabin only) electrical installation prior to delivery to a site.

Objectives:Given the underpinning knowledge, practical competencies, tools, test equipment and documentation at the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  1. Visually inspect a cabin electrical installation for common visual defects
  2. Carry out safe isolation of a cabin supply.
  3. Carry out minor repair and replacement of cabin electrical installation components, e.g. trunking, cables, socket outlets, switches, isolators, consumer units, RCD’s, space heaters, luminaries, lamps, and water heaters.
  4. Carry out appropriate electrical tests, e.g. continuity of protective conductors, final circuit continuity test, insulation resistance, polarity, and rcd operation.
  5. Complete and sign off the inspection report form.
