Title:Information & Systems Analyst

Grade:5 (£23,000 to £30,000)

Responsible to:IT Manager

Direct reports: None

Location:ShelterBox HQ, Truro, Cornwall

Main Role & Responsibilities to include:

  • Undertake data insight analysis to support the financial, fundraising, marketing and operational services.
  • Define, develop and implement information system solutions to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
  • Develop and maintaininformation system processes that integrate with the Financial Management System.
  • Work with all services to analyse, develop, report and promote the use of information to support the on-going development of the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Build strongrelationships with all information users and teams that willenable them to maximise their use of data.
  • To use bespoke and industry standard business intelligence tools to analyse and develop comprehensive reporting throughout the whole organisation. The organisation current uses SQL, SAP and Crystal Reports.
  • Work with the IT Manager and Management Accountant to review and develop the organisations’ information requirements.
  • To keep within the charity’s aims and objectives

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop strong relationships with all services in order to position data and insight at the heart of decision making processes.
  • Contribute analytical and strategic input into cross cutting operational and strategic projects.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve to use of data and insight within the organisation.
  • Engage with all departments and services to define their system and information requirements and assist them to deliver high quality analysis and outcomes.
  • Specify and present information solutions to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Interpret analysis in plain English and deliver presentations and written reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver analysis and reporting solutions using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Determine the best possible method of organising and maintaining data in all information systems.
  • Review, improve and enhance existing business processes.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to utilise both existing and new systems to deliver efficient and effective business processes.
  • Ensure financial information interfaces and integrates with the organisation’s Financial Management System.
  • Through sound and strong analytical processes, ensure that the organisation maximises the potential of all information systems.
  • Manage the information requirements within the CRM donor and donations system
  • Manage donor demographic coding to support fundraising and marketing data segmentation.
  • Validity and de-duplication of data including information supplied by third-parties.
  • Specify and design table structures to underpin reporting requirements.
  • Liaison with third party system providers to resolve errors in system.
  • Ensure data use is compliant with Data Protection legislation.
  • Undertake CRM system administration e.g. configuration, table maintenance and release management
  • Provide cover for IT Manager as appropriate.
  • Other projects or duties asmay be assigned by the IT Manager and are appropriate to the role

Person Specification

Attributes / Essential requirements / Desirable requirements
Experience/ knowledge / Experience of data insight analysis / Experience using CARE CRM software
Experience of delivering high quality reporting to a wide range of stakeholders
Experience of working with MSSQL databases, structured query language (SQL) and Microsoft Office (including advanced use of Excel)
Experience of 3rd Party Business Intelligence software. / SAP & Crystal Reports
Experience of working in charity or not for profit sector
Skills/personal requirements / Excellent understanding of business processes and extensive experience of translating these into system and reporting requirements
Experience in managing own workload pro-actively and with little supervision
Excellent organisational and time management skills plus ability to multi-task and work to deadlines within a busy office environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with colleagues, the public and external partners at all levels
Ability to work as part of a team
