Introduction and Objectives of the Project

The objective of this part of the assignment is to see what effect RFID tags would have on the TQM of the product Morales Plastic Product Inc. is producing. There are several aspects of Morales Plastic Product Inc. process that could benefit from RFID tags. The use of RFID system can help Morales Plastic Product Inc. by tracking the amount of parts it has in inventory and can help them replenish their stock when needed.

Description of the Methodologies Applied

RFID

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification Device. There are two types of RFID's identified in the E-Learning packet: passive and active.

Passive RFID's:Doesn’t have a power supply and rely on the electrical current from the incoming radio signal to transmit their data.Passive RFID are used more because of there consistently and reliability

Active RFID's: Do have a power supply on board and achieve greater distances. Also it can store large amounts of data. Generally, passive tags are considered more consistent and reliable.

Morales Plastic Product Inc. will use RFID's to ensure that the Plastic Rim are ship out to customers and have all the proper care instruction. This will ensure the customer has everything they need, increasing their satisfaction with the company.
