Job Description

Title: Housekeeping/Kitchen Staff

Reporting to: General Manager

Wage: NMW

General information: 30 hours per week rising to 40 hours after probation period. Weekly hours are determined by the staff rota and include various shifts, typically between 7am and 8pm with later finish times for wedding events.

Assisting other departments may be required from time to time.

All successful applicants will require the completion of an enhanced DBS check at the candidate’s expense.

Requirements

  • You must be eligible to work in the UK
  • A driving license and own transport are necessary due to the location of the site
  • Previous experience working within a hospitality environment is desirable
  • Previous experience in a leisure, sporting or educational environment is advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential
  • A professional, mature attitude is essential
  • The ability to speak Welsh is advantageous

Carreg Adventure

Carreg Adventure is aneducation, adventure and events centre based in the heart of Gower.We offer residential adventure courses for schools and groups, non-residential corporate team-building days, English-as-a-foreign language courses in July and August and weddings/parties on weekends.

The hospitality function is dynamic and varied with a range of products and menus. Fridays and Mondays are busy days for site turnover. At busy periods all members of the team are expected to pitch in and help other departments when necessary.

Due to the nature of some of our groups, an enhanced DBS check is required of all staff.

Duties

The duties of the Housekeeping/Kitchen team will include (but are not limited to):

  • Keeping communal areas clean and tidy
  • Maintaining health and safety systems relevant to the role
  • Turnover of bedrooms including cleaning and laundry turnover
  • Maintaining paperwork and online system for laundry
  • In-house laundry of towels
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of food preparation and storage areas
  • Commit to in-house catering training, taking additional catering responsibilities as appropriate
  • Serving drinks/food to customers
  • Removal of dirties to cleaning area
  • Potwash
  • Any other duties as required by the company.

Other duties

  • Maintain high levels of customer service as outlined in the relevant policies. Report any suggestions or concerns to the General Manager promptly.
  • Maintain high levels of safety as outlined in the relevant policies and continually monitor safety standards. Report any suggestions or concerns to the General Manager promptly.

Pastoral duties

  • Some youth group supervision as required
