Work Experience:

  • Provided management and quality control of large-scale translation project in ‘virtual’ environment; over thirty translators and over 4,000 files lasting more than one year
  • Experience working with members of the U.S. Intelligence Community including the National Security Agency (NSA), Marine Corps, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the National Virtual Translation Center (NVTC)
  • Integral role in the development and implementation of process management for the NMEC
  • Started a professional development workgroup for Language Analysts and Monitors in the Seattle FBI office, studying translation theory
  • Developed and delivered classroom instruction to soldiers on FortLewis in a ten-month program to learn basic Arabic

  • Wrote a web-based, database-driven application using Free and Open Source (FOS) software for a translation project involving over 40 translators, 5 team leaders and 10 non-language administrators which provided workflow management and statistics to upper-level managers
