Children must be 3 by September 15

The three-year old program at P.N.S. provides a fun and stimulating environment that nurtures the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of each child through experiences with

¨  Art- Children experiment with many types of paint, paper, brushes and other tools to help foster creativity and expression

¨  Dramatic Play- Children role play familiar situations in their lives by using props and toys and plenty of imagination!

¨  Literature- A wide variety of books is available to enjoy individually and as a group- stories, poems, picture books, big books and more!

¨  Music and Movement- Listening to and making music provides opportunity for enjoyment as we sing, dance and explore musical instruments

¨  Social Skills- Through play and group activities we foster cooperation and age appropriate communication and problem solving skills

Our center approach provides experiences with blocks, manipulative toys, sensory materials, science and cooking. Centers are based on The Creative Curriculum and align with the Iowa Early Learning Standards.

A typical day includes free play, circle time, center time incorporating the above focus areas, music, snack, and a trip to the playground or gym.
