ID ACCEPTANCE CONTRACT

I have received my school ID for the 2008-2009 school year. The Prince George’s Code of Student Conduct requires that all ID badges be hung from the neck on a break-away chain in which I have possession of.

As identification badges are a central part of the efforts to provide all students with a safe, caring, and orderly environment for learning, it should also be noted that the implementation of badges at our closely-knit school are an increased effort to prepare students for the next level. If an ID Badge is lost or stolen, I understand the cost for replacement is $5.00 per badge and $1.00for neck chains.

ID badges are to be an integral part of the school experience at Thomas G. Pullen Middle. They may be needed in order to:

  • Obtain a hall pass requiring travel from floor to floor;
  • Identify oneself in the halls;
  • Identify oneself for a lunch program;
  • Check out library materials;
  • Check in when tardy to school;
  • Ride a PGCPS bus;
  • Attend field trips;
  • Purchase tickets for any school function or activity;
  • Participate in evening and Saturday activities;
  • Participate in any and all school activities set aside exclusively for ThomasG.Pullen Middle School Students

Policy and Consequences:

Students are not to report directly to classes without an Identification Badge. Students, without their ID’s, should report directly to the cafeteria in order to secure a temporary ID badge from their administrator or the administrative designee.

Failure to wear the identification badge will result in the following:

Step One: Students will be able to receive three temporary ID badges per semester by reporting to the cafeteria between 8:45 and 9:00 AM for Level 1 Offenses – Violation of General Classroom and Bus Rules. Late arrivals should see their administrator or designee.

Step Two: Students without a badge or temporary sticker for a fourth time in a semester will be sent to their administrator who will document it into the Student’s ID Badge Violation & Discipline record. Students will receive an Administrative Writing Assignment based on responsibility.

Step Three: If additional ID badges are required, a PS74 referral may be written and sent to the student’s administrator and the parent/guardian(s)may berequested for a conference. Additional disciplinary action may be taken.

(Lost ID Badges cost $5:00. Funds must be paid before students are to receive a new ID. Temporary badges that indicate a date span/time period until a replacement is provided will be distributed.)
