Odyssey News:
The Odyssey Coach and Sharon Stump worked to develop Odyssey courses on the elementary level that are based on the Common Core Standards. These will be completed soon. The high school level already has courses that have an attached grade book and can be assigned to a student or whole class. If you are interested in your students using these courses, contact your TIS. / isNational Bullying Prevention Month.
This would be a great month to complete the Cyber-Safety training that WV Policy 2460 and CIPA Compliance require all grades to complete. To gain more information, look at the NCS TIS Cyber-Safety Training Overview webpage.
Reminders from the Central Office:Acuity: Benchmark 1 testing window are as follows:
· Secondary Block Classes : Sept. 26 – November 2
· Elementary and Secondary Year Long Classes: Oct. 15 – Nov. 16

WV Write:
· The site is ready for teachers to create their classes and assign prompts.
· If you need your school code or the WV Writes links go to http://tinyurl.com/NCSwvwrites .
· If you are a new teacher and do not know your username/password for Acuity or WV Writes, contact your TIS.
· When a new student comes to your school, please supply the needed information in the online form at http://tinyurl.com/studentinfoneeded.
TechSteps:
· The assessment section is open to allow teachers to set up their classes. If you need help contact your TIS.
· To view resources for TechSteps or to get directions for creating classes online go to http://tinyurl.com/ncstechsteps.
· Although the Cyber-Safety lessons are on TechSteps.com and completion must be recorded there, the Cyber-Safety lessons are not counted toward the required TechSteps modules at each grade level.
