Beta Club Officer Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming an officer in Beta! We need active participants to keep our club strong. Please review the duties of each office before you apply. You may run for up to two offices. A separate candidate questionnaire must be completed for each office.

Responsibilities of all officers

1.  Maintain membership GPA and Community Service standards.

2.  Be a leader in terms of good character and behavior.

3.  Be active in as many club events as possible.

4.  Attend executive council meetings. These meetings are for officers to set the agenda and plan the whole club meeting. They will occur at 3:15 two school days prior to a full club meeting.

President

1.  preside at meetings

2.  represent this organization when necessary

3.  create the agenda

4.  attend executive council meetings

5.  run meetings in an orderly way

6.  administer the policies as laid down in constitution and its by-laws

Vice President

1.  preside at meetings when the president is absent or incapacitated to perform the duties of the office

2.  assist in administering the affairs of the chapter-serving on such committees as are designated

3.  plan and manage at least one club-wide community service activity per semester

4.  attend executive council meetings

Secretary

1.  keep a record of attendance

2.  record the minutes of the meetings

3.  attend executive council meetings

4.  to carry on the necessary club correspondence

Reporter

1.  arrange for publicity any activities or special features of club operations or any of its members in local and state newspapers, on radio, or television, and school news/website

2.  attend executive council meetings.

Historian

1.  responsible for keeping records, pictures and other materials of historic importance to the association

2.  compile a log of activities and a scrapbook to be displayed at state meetings and other appropriate places

3.  attend executive council meetings

Treasurer

1.  keep club budget records and report on budget at meetings

2.  manage at least one club-wide fundraiser per semester

3.  attend executive council meetings

Recreation Leader

1.  look after the entertainment features of the social meetings of the club - such as decorations, refreshments, and special features of entertainment

2.  provide team-building and/or leadership exercises during regular formal meetings

3.  attend executive council meetings
