INTRODUCTION:
This unit is .Right and wrong......
Pupils need some prior knowledge of the following concepts: right wrong, rules, special friends, neighbour.
Vocabulary learnt: bible, God, Jesus, right, wrong, Adam, Eve.
AT1 LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR THIS UNIT / AT2 LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR THIS UNIT
Pupils begin to learn about different rules
Pupils understand that doing something wrong affects other people / Pupils to develop respect for themselves and one another
Pupils know how to live and work together
Pupils know what Jesus meant by people loving God and people knowing that God loves them / To know what Jesus meant when he told them to love their neighbour
Pupils know what Jesus meant by people loving God and people knowing that God loves them
To know that the Bible says God made a perfect world but that Adam and Eve spoilt it by being disobedient / To understand that doing something wrong affects other people
To begin to understand about making right choices
ASSESSMENT: I Can statements for higher and lower achievers are included in the lesson plans for formative assessment.
The I Can statements below are based on the eight level scale of the Non Statutory National Framework for Religious Education.
Teachers are encouraged to refer to these at the end of each unit and make a summative assessment of the level pupils are working at. This information can be used by the class teacher for end of year reporting to parents and by the RE coordinator for monitoring the effectiveness of pupils’ learning in RE as part of the school’s ongoing self evaluation.

To begin to understand about making right choices / Lower / Create opportunities for sharing and turn taking. When playing games encourage an acceptance that they won’t always win and that to play the game properly/fairly you need to follow the rules.
Introduce the idea of rules using role play eg playing happily with a friend, when an argument spoils the game. Talk about feelings. What makes us do bad things? How do you make things better? Read Jamaica’s find and talk about what story reaches us.
Loving a friend – do some puppet role play about a best friend and how they are always there when you need them.
What makes a friend happy/sad?
