I attended the Regional Assembly workshop on July 15 and the Regional Service Conference on July 16th.

The Assembly workshop was on social media using the Guiding Principles.

At the Regional meeting. I reported that our area was transitioning to a new committee, but we are doing well and carrying a message of hope and freedom throughout Portland. I also reported the H&I numbers I had.

Region has filled 2 out o 3 open positions and are still seeking a person to fill the Policy and Procedures position.

The activities committee was dissolved and will now be a part of the conferences and events committee.

Region would like us to host the RSC in October of 2018.

There is a survey on the Zonal meeting that will go out along with my report, please take it and have a discussion in your business meeting and bring the survey back at the next area.

The next RSC is October 21st in Grants Pass.

Thanks for allowing me to be of service,

PR Report 7/29/17

Phoneline:

We currently have one open shift friday mornings 7am-12pm.

We received an unusually high number of voicemails this month. The majority were for meetings that were on the schedule, but that were not there to meet. please make sure that if any changes need to be made email them to:

We would really appreciate it if you would notify us of meeting cancellations.

We are also currently exploring options on the phoneline service so please bear with us if there are any issues.

Mailings:

Mailings went out this month including 20 additional groups on the email list as well as the existing 17 emailed groups, and the 57 paper mailed groups.

Printings/Shared Services:

Clackamas activities has been added to the list of groups with access to the printings and it seems to be working for them.

There was no contact made by any other officers so if anyone else here needs access to the office depot account for printing please contact us at:

Schedules:

we would like to remind people that the best way to get changes made is through the email address. regular mail and the portal on the website can take a long time and be buggy so email is the best option.

Thank you for allowing me to be of service,

~Zak F

Service Position Sought: Alternate Treasurer

1)  Please list all NA Service Positions you have held that you consider relevant to the position to which you are nominated.

I have held the service positions of meeting secretaries, Meeting GSR, and other varying NA related positions of service.

2)  What personal resources do you believe you can bring to this position:

I am accountable, and I highly value my integrity not only as a member of Narcotics Anonymous, but as a human being as well. I am loving, caring, compassionate and empathetic toward others and consider myself to be a great team player.

3)  Please Check appropriate box if you have:

Yes No

_X_ ___ N.A. Sponsor

_X_ ___ N.A. Home Group

_X_ ___ Attend weekly N.A. Meetings

_X_ ___ Working knowledge of the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of N.A.

_X _ _ Accounting & computer skills

4)  What life experiences (i.e., school, work, volunteer, etc.) have you had that you believe will help you serve in the position to which you are nominated?

I have had numerous experiences which throughout my lifepath have all been servitude in being foundational in one aspect or another in support of what it is that I now do and am in pursuit of. I have held numerous positions in the work force that had to do with money handling and I did so without having my cashier ‘drawer’ be short or over when closed out. I am now enrolled in school and have completed my Associate degrees in Science, Arts Transfer Degree in Business, and my Associates in General Education.

I have also been employed at Portland Community College for the past six years in the capacity of a math tutor and have had quite the overall success rate in students going on to greater heights and/or receiving their degrees. I have also been employed by nearly every program at the college and have thoroughly enjoyed being of service in this capacity where I am afforded the opportunity of engaging a vast number of personalities and cultures upon their own personal educational and life pursuits.

5)  Please include any other information you consider relevant.

I have just finished my first year at PSU and am in my 6th year of becoming a Middle School Math Educator through the Portland Teachers Program where we are encouraged to not only become proficient in our subject matter but also to engage ourselves in cultural equitable proficiencies. This is highly relevant concerning the cultural mosaic our program offers and the unparalleled inclusivity of all our members and cultures.

Currently I have just completed Math 495 and have a high aptitude for numbers and have a great spirit and high energy to be of service which helps me to remain connected to the program which has given me much more than I could ever repay. I look forward to being of service and hope to be afforded the opportunity of this position in which I intend to volunteer my time and effort, and could learn more of the intricacies our program has to offer.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Robert A. McDonald II

We still have an open position for Alternate Archivist, so please take this back to your home groups for consideration. This position has a 1 year clean date requirement.
