Climate change poses a serious challenge to us all: everyone will have to adapt to its effects. However, the pressure that increasing floods, famine and drought will put on the people of poor and vulnerable countries will be catastrophic. A recent report by Christian Aid predicts that 182 million people in sub-Saharan Africa could die of disease directly attributable to climate change by the end of the century. Many millions more face death and devastation due to floods, famine drought and conflict.

Changing the Climate is an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about how climate change is affecting the world’s poorest people
  • Find out about practical things that you can do to help reduce CO2 emissions
  • Get involved in supporting poor countries as they seek to adapt to the destruction that climate change is already bringing
  • Reflect, worship and pray
  • Look at some of the latest Christian Aid resources, including resources for children and young people

The event will be led by Doctor Daleep Mukarji, Director of Christian Aid, with contributions from Rev Mike Gilbert, Bishop’s Advisor on the Environment, and members of Christian Aid staff.
