But who decides what is "appropriate" for a particular child, and what constitutes the "least restrictive environment"? Whether the placement is yet undecided, the general education classroom with all necessary supports, a local self-contained classroom, or a private school, parents often find themselves in the role of advocate. In this workshop, parents will learn practical advocacy tips and strategies to avoid common pitfalls when advocating as part of the IEP team for access to the appropriate educational setting, as well as obtaining appropriate supports and services. Transition to Adult Services
