Course Titles & Descriptions

Legend in Your Own Mind/Gathering Your Tools

This educational offering’s goal is to equip us with the skills we need to succeed in the business world as well as our nursing profession. We need to know how to negotiate our compensation and benefits packages, how set career goals & objectives, how to use job evaluations to get a RAISE, how to position yourself for promotion, the dos and don’ts of negotiation - skills they don’t teach in nursing school.

Who Are You & Who Do You Know? Tweet Tweet?!

This presentation will focus on how to determine if you are ready for change, how to manage changes, how to make social media work for you, how to build a network, business communication skills and how to develop an effective resume.

Campaign- Me? Tools to Run a Successful Campaign

Do you know how to find the job you desire? Are you ready to search for a new job? How should you campaign for your new job or promotion? How do you have a memorable interview – and get called back? Answers to these questions and more will be covered in this session.

Effective Positioning

How well do you say “No”? Ever had to tell someone something they didn’t want to hear? How well do you handle conflict? Do you know your personal style of conflict management? Our conflict resolution specialist will take us through activities so that we can learn to manage conflict WELL – regardless if it is with our workers, co-workers, management or even family.

Stress Management – “Welcome to Stressame Street” Nurses are also notorious for taking care of everyone else but themselves. We hope to give you tools so that you can identify stress, learn how to control how you RESPOND to stress, coping mechanisms and how to say “no” without feeling guilty. We have an EAP specialist and licensed social worker who will take us through an experiential presentation on stress and how to deal with it. These tools can help us at work as well as time spent with friends and family.
