SENIOR CAMP 2017
Senior Camp, which is the highlight of the year for many of our members, will be held at Pontispool Equestrian (see ) , from Tuesday 8th August to Friday 11th August. We can arrive from 5pm on the Tuesday to settle in before supper, and will need to leave by 5pm on Friday.
This camp is designed for riders aged 10 years and above and at D+ Level.
We aim to provide a fun and safe environment for children to improve both their riding skills and also care of their horses. This will include 4 hours per day of riding instruction (for 3 days), plus stable management, and other activities in the evening. At Pontispool, we will have access to arenas for flatwork and showjumping, and also their whole cross country course which is up to BE standard. Camp will end in an informal competition and prizegiving on the Friday afternoon, to which parents are warmly invited. Parents will also get an opportunity to speak with the instructors at this point.
Full board is provided, and children will stay in the cabin accommodation provided atPontispool. We will ask each family to bring a cake to share in the afternoons!
During camp, the children will be divided into ‘Troops’, which earn points during the week for not only turnout of themselves and their horses and tidiness of their living quarters, but also how well they do the necessary chores (cleaning the dining and washroom areas, sweeping the yard etc). There is a prize for the best troop at the end of camp!
Parents are expected to help with thoroughly cleaning the cabins and communal areas on Friday afternoon, and we also will need to ask for volunteers (with DBS clearance) fora rotato help with night-time supervision.
Each year we aim to keep the cost to a minimum, and the Pony Club also does subsidise this camp. The cost of camp this year will be £255.

The balance of £155 will be needed by 25th July as we have to pay Pontispool in full before we arrive.
