This is the Year

Grade 7

A year of studying hard and playing piano,

Challenging yet scary,

I’m excited about my new teachers,

I’m nervous about the school snobs,

I’m looking forward to trying out for orchestra,

And I fear doing something that will make people laugh,

All in all, though, life is a CD with only a few scratches.

This Was the Year

Grade 6

A year of change and growth,

Scary, but fun,

I was excited about the new building,

I was nervous about opening my locker,

I looked forward to making new friends,

And I feared the scary English teacher,

All in all, though life is a closet full of clothes just waiting to be worn.
