Description

The goal of this course is to teach students the skills required to configure the basic control structure of Advant OCS with MOD 300 Software

These areas are presented:

• System Overview, • Operational Interfacing, • Station Shutdown and Start-up, • Hardware Overview

• System Configuration, • AdvaCommand, • AdvaBuild, • Display Builder, • Environment Builder

• Configurable Control Functions (CCF), • Loop Configuration Examples, • AC 460 • I/O Options and Configuration(S100 I/O, S800 I/O,MVI,TRIO), • Back-up and Restore, • TCL Overview, • IMS Overview

Objectives

Using an Advant OCS with MOD 300 Software, the student will be able to:

• Identify MOD 300 hardware and functional components.

• Properly shut down and start up an Advant workstation.

• Configure the database, create graphics, and configure an operator environment for controlling process loops.

• Operate a process using standard operator and engineering displays.

• Perform database maintenance tasks.

• Identify the requirements for implementing support functionalities on a MOD 300 System, including IMS Reports and History, Taylor Remote I/O, etc.

• Back-up and restore system from DAT.

Student Profile

The student will be a Control or System Engineer responsible for product configuration of Advant OCS with MOD 300 Software.

Prerequisites

Students should be familiar with principles of basic process control and modern workstation technology
