The titanic was one of the most luxurious ships in the world. A lot of well known people were on the ship when it sank .Others were going to start a new life in America .There were over 2200 people and 900 crew on board when it sank .There were only enough lifeboats for 1200 people and 1500 died when it sank, on April 15th1912. It was the titanics 100 anniversary last year.
There was meant to be a lifeboat drill the day before the titanic sank. Captain Smith cancelled the drill. Many people thought that if they did the drill more lives could have been saved. The crew only had 37 seconds before the ship hit the iceberg.
They tried turning left but they didn’t turn quick enough and they hit the iceberg.
With the order for women and children first into the lifeboats, plus the knowledge that there were not enough lifeboats for everyone on board theTitanic to be saved, it is a bit surprising that two dogs made it into the lifeboats. Of the nine dogs on board theTitanic, the two that were rescued were a Pomeranian and Pekinese.
The titanic sent distress signals which are like fireworks and some passengers on the Californian ship saw the distress signals and told the captain of the Californian ship but he refused and said since the wireless operator was asleep he would not go
Many people believe that more people would have survived if the Californian ship had come to rescue the people on the titanic would have lived
There were only two bath tubs for seven hundred people in third class on board the titanic
In first class there was two suits had private bathrooms on board the titanic
Everyone on board the ship only had one hour to exit the ship before the titanic sank
