How you can help

There are a large number of families living in abject poverty in many areas of Bali.

BaliCare is dedicated to assisting families who may need help, physically and/or financially to improve their living conditions.

A house has been leased by BaliCare in a suburb of Denpasar which provides accommodation for 4 families who were previously living in sub-standard conditions. Ongoing financial support is needed to continue the lease and to upgrade and maintain the house.

The donation of clothing for the families living in the BaliCare house is a much appreciated gift and can be taken with you when you travel to Bali. Contact BaliCare regarding advice as to the items which will be of most benefit.

Finances are also needed to assist in seeking and securing improved housing for other families whose living conditions may be similar to that shown below


Orphanages

How you can help

If you, or anyone you know is travelling to Bali why not consider taking some gifts with you to give to children in orphanages. Contact BaliCare prior to your departure to obtain information regarding procedures to follow and for ideas on what to take to give to the children.

A number of items required by orphanages can be purchased very easily in Bali and are much cheaper than in Australia. BaliCare is able to provide you with practical information on how easy it is to shop in Bali for children in orphanages.

If you wish to visit an orphanage so that you can personally deliver your gifts, BaliCare will provide you with advice to help make this possible.

Financial gifts are always most welcome and will assist in paying school fees or purchasing additional food for children in orphanages.

Your visit to Bali will have an added dimension when you see just how easy it is to add a very special touch to the life of a child living in an orphanage.

Educational needs of poor children

How you can help

BaliCare administers an educational sponsorship programme for children from extremely poor families living in the area of Karangasem (north east Bali). Due to their poverty many parents face the difficult decision of placing their children in orphanages to give them the opportunity to receive an education. With sponsorship that decision can be avoided and the family unit remains intact. The annual sponsorship cost per child is $70 (Primary) & $90 (High). This amount covers the mandatory school fees and provides the child with the required text books, school uniforms, school bag and pencils. Any residual funds are used to purchase nutritional items for all children at the school.

BaliCare supports a small school located in a suburb of Denpasar. This facility was established in 2003 and provides schooling, at a minimal cost to children whose parents are very poor.

Gifts of school items (pencils, textas, etc) & financial gifts are most welcome and will assist in supporting the educational needs of poor children.
