• School pictures will be taken TOMORROWTuesday, September 1st. Everyone will have a picture taken for the yearbook even if you are not purchasing a packet.
  • There are a few left over yearbooks from the 2014-2015 school year in the office for sale. $15
  • Please join us for our first Parent Network meeting of the year on Thursday, September 10th at 6:00 pm.
  • ART CLUB MEETING- All interested middle school students are invited to attend an ART CLUB meeting on Tuesday, September 1st from 3:15-4:00PM. The group will be creating T-shirt designs for the Lafayette Co. Cancer Coalition Run/Walk T-Shirt design contest. Be sure to have a ride here to pick you up by 4PM
  • There will be a STUCO Exec. Meeting at 7:30am in the counselor’s conference room on Thursday, September 3rd.
  • Country Fair Princess Pageant- For ladies age 5-14 the pageant will be held Sat, September 12th

If you are interested in competing go to higginsvillecountryfair.com and click on “Entry Forms.” Forms must be turned in to Chamber of Commerce by September 1st.

  • PEER HELPERS--All students interested in Peer Helpers should see Ms. Barnes or Mrs. Lettau for details and applications. Applications may be picked up before or after school and must be turned in by Sept ember 14th. Open to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
  • T-Shirt design contest! 4th-8th graders can design the t-shirt for the Lafayette Co Cancer Coalition Run/Walk. Winner will receive $25. Entries must be turned in by Sept 4th. Pick up an entry form in the office.
  • HYDRO--Please be sure to turn in your HYDRO application to the office. The first meeting will be this weekend, probably Sunday, but you must have your form in before then.
  • STUDENT COUNCIL--If you are interested in joining a leadership group, please consider running for Student Council. Student Council campaigns & elections will be September 2-11. Campaigning will begin September 2nd after the students have submitted a completed petition and submitted it to Ms. Barnes in the counseling office. Petitions may be picked up and submitted before or after school ONLY. After the petition is turned in students may hang posters up in the hallways. Students may run for president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, or representative. Speeches and voting will take place on the following days:

September 8th- 8th grade speeches and voting

September 10th - 6th grade speeches and voting

September 11th- 7th grade speeches and voting

All results will be read on Friday the 11th

* Student’s may only put up posters and cannot give items to other students like candy, gum, or pencils. If interested, pick up a petition from Ms. Barnes beginning Sept 1st.
