Theatre Code of Conduct and Policies

Each Volunteer and staff of Theatrikos Theatre Company agrees to abide by the following Code of Conduct and Policies:

Code of Conduct

§  Please honor the commitments that you have made to this theatre.

§  Be on time and call if you can not be.

§  Be respectful of the Board of Directors, employees and other volunteers of this theatre.

§  Please dress appropriately.

§  Be respectful of the theatre. Please help keep the theatre’s appearance clean and professional. Pick up and clean up after yourself, discarding trash in appropriate receptacles before leaving the premises.

§  Please keep a professional image, limiting horseplay in lobby, front parking lot and administrative areas.

Policies

§  Alcohol and illegal drugs are NEVER to be consumed/taken prior to or during any performance, rehearsal or strike by any person involved in the show or strike. Alcohol can only be consumed by people of legal drinking age and only with special permission of a Theatrikos Theatre Company staff member.

§  No pranks during any performance (this includes closing night pranks.)

§  Running Crew should remain backstage, in the basement and balcony and limit their time spent in the lobby.

§  Cast members may be the in the lobby on show nights until the box office opens at 6:00pm and after the shows only once they have changed out of their costume.

§  Smoke outside only. This is a Non-smoking building by city ordinance.

§  Do not smoke in costume.

§  All actors and crew need to utilize the backstage door and park in the lower lot starting tech week.

§  Please take care of all props set items (remember that some are borrowed and are not replaceable.)

§  Do not move anyone’s prop without their knowledge and consent.

§  Only props are to be set on prop shelves. No personal items on the prop shelves.

§  Drinks backstage are to be in plastic containers.

§  Do not eat or drink food props.

§  Please avoid eating and drinking in costume.

§  Do not move and/or change the light and sound settings during tech week and the run of a show.

§  Take care of all Theatrikos Theatre Company equipment and barrowed equipment. Do not use equipment until you have been instructed on how to use it.

§  Wear appropriate safety gear when operating power tools and equipment at all times. (i.e., safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, ect.)

§  Wear footwear at all times in the building, unless required to be bare foot on stage (shoes must be worn up to and immediately after being on stage).

§  Only cast, running crew and theatre staff are allowed onstage, backstage, in balcony, booth and downstairs before and during any performances.

§  Store your personal items in appropriate places (actor and crew, in dressing rooms or locked in lockers located next to dressing rooms, house managers and ushers in closet in the copy room. Or lock you personal items in your vehicle.)

Blatant disregard of any of the Codes of Conduct and Policies can/may jeopardize your ability to work at the theatre in the future.
