The Vision of the Nether World

v. 41 [Kum]maya lay down and he saw a night–vision. In his dream [ ]. I saw its terror. [ ].
v.42 Namtar, the vizier of the nether world, the creator of the decrees, I saw. And a man was standing before him. He was holding the hair of his head in his left hand, in his right hand [he was holding] a sword.
v. 43 [Na]mtartu, the concubine, was provided with the head of a Kuribu, the hands (and) feet (were) those of a man. Mutu was provided with the head of a serpent-dragon, the hands (were) those of men, the feet [ ].
v. 44 [Sedu], an evil one, the head (and) hands (were) those of men. He was wearing a crown. The feet (were) those of an eagle. With his left foot he was treading on a sea-monster. Alluhappu was provided with the head of a lion, the hands (and) feet (were) those of men.
v. 45 Saghulhaza (had) the head of a bird, with wings outspread, he was flying to and fro. The hands (and) feet (were) those of men. Humut-tabal, the boatsman of the nether world, was provided with the head of an Anzu-bird. The hands (and) feet [ ].
v. 46 E[tem]mu was provided with the head of an ox. The hands and feet (were) those of men. Utukku, an evil one, the head (was) that of a lion. The hands (and) feet (were) those of an Anzu-bird. Sulak (was) an ordinary lion, standing on his hind legs.
v. 47 [Ma]mitu (had) the head of a goat. The hands (and) feet (were) those of men. Nedu, the doorkeeper of the nether world, (had) the head of a lion, the hands of men, the feet of a bird. Mimma lemnu, his two heads, the first head (was) that of a lion, the second head [ ].
v. 48 [Muh]ra (had) three feet. The two forefeet (were) those of a bird, the hindfoot (was) that of an ox. He was possessing terror and dreadful splendor. The two gods, their name I do not know. The first (had) the head, hands (and) feet of an Anzu-bird. In his left hand [ ].
v. 49 The second was provided with the head of a man. He was wearing a crown. In his right hand he was carrying a mace. In his left hand [ ]. [In] all fifteen gods were standing (there). I saw them and I called out to them.
v. 50 One man, his body was black like pitch. His face was similar to that of an Anzu-bird. He was wearing a red robe. In his left hand he was holding up a bow. In his right hand he was hol[ding] a sword. [with his left foot he was treading on . . .].
