Dear Colleague
Autumn Census Data Collection
I am writing to remind you that the Autumn Census Data Collection will take place on Thursday 1 October 2015
A significant part of the processing of the Census returns is ensuring that individual children are included only once and are not duplicated across more than one school. Problems occur when children who have transferred to other schools have not been removed from the Schools system. It is important therefore that systems are kept up to date in this respect to ensure that the records maintained are accurate.
To allow the School Information Team to run the duplicate checking process the deadline for the School Census to be returned to the Local Authority is Thursday 15 October 2015.
We accept this is a tight timescale but the data requested is a copy of the information you are required to keep on a day-to-day basis. If any errors are identified on your first submission an error report will be uploaded on to It’s Learning for further clarification and re-submission.
It is important to remember that any duplicate reports can only be successfully run once all schools have submitted their data.
Following Census Day, the School Information Team will complete the checking process for each individual school in the order the files are submitted to the Local Authority including all subsequent returns made. This means the sooner you submit your return the sooner it will be checked, corrected and approved.
Your School Census return(s) should be submitted to the Local Authority by uploading your file on to the It’s Learning, any issues with the return will be detailed on an error report uploaded on to It’s Learning. If you’ve forgotten your password or require the instructions for the upload and/or download process the School Information Team would be able to provide this information.
