DUTIES:Under the direction of the Chief Program Officerand within the limitations of agency policy, the incumbent has overall responsibility for the delivery of and quality of outpatient counseling services including supervision and training of the Clinical Services team.

  • Supervises the Outpatient Supervisors by providing direction regarding and evaluation of the delivery of Outpatient Clinical Services.
  • Demonstrates on-going assessment of community needs relative to mental health services and brings forward partnerships, opportunities and ideas in response to these needs.
  • Stays current with trends in the delivery of clinical mental health services to children and adults.
  • Participates in the recruitment, training and supervision of qualifiedlicensed clinical social workers and licensed professional counselors.
  • Supervises intern's, social work or counseling residents or appropriately delegates supervision.
  • Constructs and monitors the implementation of program annual plans that reflect the priority work of the program and service delivery.
  • Participates in community activities that represent Outpatient Counseling Servicesas a resource for the community.
  • Participates in the development and effective management of the Outpatient Counseling Servicesoverallbudget and project or grant specific budgets.
  • Uses data to effectively monitorclinical productivity standards, evaluate program efficacy and recommend programmatic shifts.
  • Participates in the development of best practice quality assurance proceduresthat manage for process and product outcomes.
  • Works cooperatively with other direct service and non direct services departments toensure effective collaboration among divisions.
  • Provides direct services to clients, if indicated.
  • Participates in the establishment and management of the agency’s policy and procedures.
  • Leads the Continuous Quality Assurance team for Outpatient Counseling.
  • Provides comprehensive and timely completion of reports required by internal and external sources, that illustrates the full context of clinical services and outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed in the State of Virginia as a Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • Possess at least a Master’s Degree in Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
  • Certified to conduct clinical supervision to either Social Work or Clinical Residents.
  • Have 5 years clinical post licensure experience.
  • Previous supervisory and administrative experience.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with and support teams across different office locations.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds.
  • Ability to attract outstanding personnel.
