UVM BENEFITS OVERVIEW

The University of Vermont Wellness Council seeks proposals for off-campus wellness corporate membership partners for its 8,000 plus employees. These employees are located statewide, including, but not limited to the following locations: Bennington, Berlin, Brattleboro, Burlington, Middlebury, Morrisville, Newport, Rutland, South Burlington, Springfield, St. Albans, and St. Johnsbury. We highly value our employees and recognize the great benefits of investing in the well-being of our workforce.

OUR AUDIENCE

Our primary audience is UVM benefit eligible faculty and staff. Our secondary audience is non-benefited employees. Our tertiary audience is partners, spouses and family members to UVM employees.

CORPORATE Wellness PARTNERS OBJECTIVES

  • Flexibility for UVM employee access to available services
  • Unique wellness connections
  • Free trial memberships for new members (if applicable)
  • Standard Discounts for UVM employees – monthly and annual
  • Waived initiation and enrollment fees
  • Benefits or discounts for collaborating whole health opportunities
  • Flexibility for multiple corporate partnerships to meet the demand for statewide wellness programming for UVM staff (if applicable)
  • Flexibility to tie into an overall wellness initiative at UVM
  • Reporting on utilization of members

CURRENT

Currently, UVM benefit-eligible staff and faculty have access to the on-campus Campus Recreation facilities free. This includes access to the Gucciardi Fitness Center, FitZone, Forbush Natatorium (Pool), Gutterson ice rink, multipurpose turf, indoor track, tennis courts, racquetball courts, squash courts, rock climbing and bouldering room, and locker rooms. Their spouses and family members, with a UVM identification card, have access at no charge to utilize the facility during family hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

As of June, there were 5,325 faculty and staff (full-time, benefitted staff) memberships to our facility. In the past year (6/1/2016-6/7/2017) our on-campus facility has had visits from 1,251 unique individuals from faculty and staff population. This data demonstrates that only 23.5% of the faculty and staff members are utilizing these on-campus facilities and programs.

This is one of the many reasons UVM is broadening our horizon in relation to employee wellness. In September we will be launching a wellness program with great local wellness opportunities. Our goal is to provide a wellness community based on whole health ideals. The areas of wellness we are looking to meet are the following:

  • Physical
  • Social
  • Spiritual
  • Emotional
  • Environmental
  • Financial
  • Intellectual

The UVM Wellness council is reaching out to your company because we believe you may be able to provide opportunities in one of the areas listed above. We are excited to partner with you in order to build a wonderful wellness community at UVM.
