8.2010 Holidays

The 2010 Holiday schedule for church closings was approved.

9.Emergency contact number & Elder of the Week on church phone.

After hours and on weekends an emergency contact number needs to be made available for people calling in to the church. Who should that be? What is the best way to make that number available? Weekly updates on the outgoing message was mentioned. Also mentioned was the possibility of using an answering service who would be able to get in touch with the Pastor or Elder on call. Mickey will investigate costs. This concern will also be addressed by the Session for their discussion and approval.

Respectfully submitted,

Lisa Shirley

Matching Volunteers with Opportunities

Hospitality – Greeters/Ushers/Welcome Center/Traffic. People are especially needed in this area for the new service beginning in January. If anyone has names to consider, please contact Gloria Wommack.

True Food Lunches – College Ministry. People are needed to help with set up for 45 minutes-1 hour between services on Sunday morning; and help with clean up for 30-45 minutes beginning at 1:15 p.m. Volunteers needed to provide food. Small groups, families or individuals may help with food for the whole meal, an entrée, side dish, or dessert. Approximately 25 people gather for these meals.

Wednesday Night Dinners – People are needed to help with clean up so that the team of cooks are not left to do all the work. They are a great team and we do not want them to “burn out” from being overworked.

Projection – Volunteers are needed to run song and video projection for the Sunday morning services or for special events. We need individuals who will commit to run projection one time each month including a Wednesday practice session or during special services or events which would also include a practice session. The person should be comfortable using a computer and able to follow the flow of a song. Training will be provided.
