2011 Tewksbury Historical Society Art Show
Eligibility: Artists 18 years of age and older.
Juried Work: Original artwork which has not been previously submitted to this show
Categories Accepted:
Landscapes / Florals / AnimalsBuildings / Still life/Interiors / Abstracts
(No portraits, photography or computer art)
Condition of Acceptance:
- All Juried and Cash & Carry works must be secure for hanging
- Media: Pastel, Watercolor, Graphics or Mixed Media under glass or Plexiglas, and Oil, Acrylics, and Collage
- All Portfolio works must be in a proper portfolio rack (1 rack only)
- The Tewksbury Historical Society will retain a 30% commission on all pieces sold.
Juried Art Work Procedures
- Complete & sign the enclosed Registration Form
- Take 4” x 6” photographs of EACH painting (try to photo just the painting) or mail a CD-RW or CD-R ** of the paintings – put in a jpeg file. (300 dpi is normal)
- Print your name, title of work, Media, Category, size of work, note whether Tewksbury subject, and sale price on the back of each photo or on a separate sheet w/CD-put your name, title of work with image on CD
- Send Registration form* and photos along with your non-refundable payment of $25 to:

If we don’t call with you by September 30, bring all of your registered accepted juried paintings along with Cash & Carry and Portfolio pieces on October 7th or 8th.
Cash & Carry and Portfolio Procedures
Provide two copies of letter size list each for C&C and Portfolio:
- Name and Phone No. on top of page
- List Number, Title and price of each work
- Affix Name, Title, Price and Orig. or Print to front of pieces
Cash & Carry (See above instr. PLUS:)
- Limit of 5small works accepted – No larger than 14” x 18” (wired works only). Smaller works will fit on our displays more easily and allow all to be shown*
- Submit pieces in a carton w/artist name on all sides of box
- Price (not to exceed $150)
We reserve the right to display only items that are in fresh, salable condition
Portfolio (See above instr. PLUS:)
Bring Matted and unframed pieces in a
professional print rackonly (such as the black canvas racks available at various art supply stores or on line. One rack per artist.)

From Route 78 Westbound: Take 78 to exit 24. Turn
right at the bottom of the ramp (toward Oldwick).
Turn right onto Church Street at ZionChurch. Zion
CEBBuilding is one block east on the right.
From Route 78 Eastbound: Exit at 24, turn left (N) at
the bottom of the ramp, proceed as above.
From Route 287: Take 287 North or South to Route
78 West. Follow 78 Westbound to exit 24. Follow
Route 78 directions.
From Route 22: Turn North at Oldwick Rd. (Rt. 523)
Follow Rt. 523 North past Route 78 and see above
directions.

Sales: All entries must be priced to sell. The Society will retain a 30% commission on all sales.
All artwork must remain at the show until close at 4pm, Saturday, October 16th and be committed to this show! Pickup is at 5pm that day!
Artists will receive a check within 30 days.

2011 Tewksbury Art Show Judges
We are proud to present our Judges for the 2011 show:
Jim McFarlane: Judge of Selection
James McFarlane is the president of the American Watercolor Society and a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Water Color Society and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. He has served on the Board of Directors and as president for both the Philadelphia Water Color Society and the Greater Norristown Art League.
He is an instructor, juror, and lecturer and nationally honored and published artist. Jim has conducted regular workshops in the Tri-State area and New England from the WoodmereMuseum to AtlanticCapeCommunity college. His regional and nationalawardsinclude Best of Show atthePhiladelphia Watercolor Society’s (PWCS) International Annual Exhibition two years in a row, the PWCS’s Crest Award and the Foley award in the Adirondacks National Watercolor Exhibitions.
Space prohibits naming all the publishing credits for artwork featured or articles written, but he has been a finalist in the Artist’s magazine Annual National Art competition, where he was also published in Watercolor Basics as one of the best of ten years.
His art is represented in numerous private and corporate collections from Blue Cross, to the Pew Collection and he has exhibited at venues from The National Academy of Design in NY to The Kerr Arts and CulturalCenter, Kerrville, Texas. Thomas Valenti: Juror of Awards
Thomas Valenti is President of the noted and venerable Allied Artists of America and an honorary Member of the Salamagundi club in N.Y. C. (where he is the designated guest demonstrator for the Annual Member’s Exhibition). He is regularly seen on WCTV on “For the Love of Art”.
He is an innovative Art teacher (RidgewoodCommunitySchool and art interest groups), frequent juror, demonstrator and author of “The Tonal Technique for Watercolor painting” for The Artist’s Magazine. He is adept in both oil and watercolor, and is most known for his dazzling portrayals of New York City street scenes.
Tom is a multi-award winning artist in both National and International Juried competitions from the Salmagundi Club to St. Marks. He has won First Place being included in the Traveling Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society and First Place at the Salmagundi club.
His works are in numerous collections here and abroad such as: Rutgers and Lipton Tea (who commissioned him to paint a watercolor series of the America’s Cup Races). He is listed in both “ Who’s who in American Art” and “Who’s Who in America”.
