“PCB101”

Join us for theSMTA Rocky Mountain Chapter technical session entitled PCB101. PCB101 is an informative technical session focusing on vendor qualifications, DFM, CAM, and board layout considerations.

Who should attend: Quality engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers, Engineering Managers, Buyers and Engineering Students.

PCB101 Topics and Presenter introductions:

“PCB 101” presented by Mark Thompson, Prototron Circuits.Mr. Thompson will take the audience through the entire PCB fabrication process, starting with CAM and ending with final inspect / ship. In addition, the presentation will include visual aids that show what the process looks like as well as what the production panel looks like before and after the given process.

Mark Thompson has been in the PCB industry for over 33 years. His primary area of expertise has been in pre-engineering and Design for Manufacture at Prototron Circuits for the past 18 years.

“The 10, 10, 10 Method” presented by Richard Snogren, founder of Bristlecone LLC and developer of My Camp Kitchen Products. Mr. Snogren will instruct the audience on the 10, 10, 10 method for selecting a PCB fabricator by suggesting 10 Insights, 10 questions, and 10 Observations that can help you make good decisions on fabricator selection.

Richard Snogren has a BS in Chemistry and Biology from Western Michigan University. Mr. Snogren maintains an active role in the DoD Executive Agent program for PCB technology and is currently in a leadership role in Supply Chain Risk Management.

“DFM” presented by Jerry Arreola, PalPilot International Corp.Mr. Arreola will focus on design considerations for cost-effective PCB manufacture. Topics covered will be basic cost drivers for technology, material selection, PCB constructions, surface finish, panel optimization, and general PCB design parameters.

Jerry Arreola brings over 20 years of PCB Engineering experience and has served roles as Manufacturing Engineer for AST, Advanced Manufacturing Engineer for PairGain Technologies and Netlist. Jerry is currently PCB Design Manager at PalPilot International Corp.
