SOUTH BAY GALLERIA PARTNERS WITH BABY BOOT CAMP
TO LAUNCH SUMMER FITNESS PROGRAM FOR LOCAL MOMS
SOUTH BAY, Calif., (May XX, 2014) – Just in time for summer, South Bay Galleria and Baby Boot Camp have teamed up to bring local moms a summer fitness program that will help them get fit, lose the baby weight and get ready for the beach season, according to Mickey Marraffino, Regional Marketing Director for South Bay Galleria.
“Health and fitness is such an important part of living a full and happy life, and we pride ourselves on giving our guests healthy options,” explains Marraffino. “From the ‘Blue Zones Project’ inspired Healthy Options menu in our food court to our on-site activities such as our Galleria Gators walking club, Kids Cub, and new Baby Boot Camp summer program, we are always seeking new ways to deliver a healthy and active experience to the community.”
The new Baby Boot Camp summer program will take place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in front of South Bay Galleria’s Nordstrom, on the lower level of the shopping center.
Founded by fitness expert Kristen Horler, who also created the company’s innovative stroller fitness program, Baby Boot Camp was designed to help moms regain or enhance pre-pregnancy fitness levels. The program also focuses on meeting the physical challenges of parenting by emphasizing strength training in a supportive environment.
“It can be especially challenging for moms to find the right fitness class that is tailored to their needs,” Marraffino adds. “South Bay Galleria’s Baby Boot Camp summer program will provide local moms with an easily accessible, four-times-a-week schedule, as well as a supportive environment in which they can connect with other moms and forge new friendships, while getting and staying healthy.”
Baby Boot Camp South Bay is owned and taught by mom, Linda Okwor. Linda is a nationally certified trainer and group fitness instructor whose specialties include pre and post natal fitness and nutrition.
“I’m thrilled to help improve the health and wellness of Southern California families,” says Linda Okwor. “As a new mom, I appreciate that Baby Boot Camp is designed specifically to help moms and moms-to-be live a healthy lifestyle with their children.”
According to Okwor, the key to the program’s success is that moms are allowed to bring their little one(s), helping the program take the place of expensive gyms, personal trainers, and child care arrangements. Most of all, it eliminates many new mom challenges so moms can work out in a supportive environment.
“For example, one of our military moms who started with us earlier this year has lost almost 60 pounds, and she has used our program to keep her PTSD and Postpartum Depression away,” explains Okwor. “Seeing amazing results like that makes me happy beyond belief.”
Okwor notes that the first baby boot camp class is always free, and invites local moms to come out and see what all the fun is about.
