“Patch Adams” is a film about an aspiring doctor who has his own ailments to deal with. The storyline resonates with the concept of the wounded healer that we discussed in class. Even though Patch never administered the Sacrament of Anointing he most certainly participated in the healing mission of Jesus by emotionally, spiritually and psychologically assisting the infirmed.

Using examples from the film Patch Adams, explain how sickness has emotional, spiritual and psychological aspects. Also explain how the support of a community can help the sick and dying find peace of mind through emotional, spiritual and mental/psychological healing.
