  1. WELCOME

1.1 Due to the absence of the President the District Chairman called the meeting to order and the Standard took post.
  1. EXHORTATION

2.1The Exhortation was given in English by the Alan Cathery and in Welsh by Ted Evans.
2.2 There were no apologies.
  1. PRAYERS AND SILENT TRIBUTE

3.1 The Reverend John Somerville led prayers and silent tribute.
  1. WELCOME FROM LLANGOLLEN BRANCH

4.1The Secretary of the Llangollen RBL branch, Bob Davidson, welcomed everyone to Llangollen and wished everyone a good Conference.
  1. WELCOME FROM MAYOR OF LLANGOLLEN

5.1Cllr Jon Haddy welcomed everyone to Llangollen. He praised the work of the Legion especially all the work on welfare and fundraising.
6. MINUTES OF THE 2010 ANNUAL MEETING
6.1 It was Proposed by Bill Delaney and Seconded by Tina Hughes that the Minutes of the 2011 Annual Meeting held in Conwy be accepted as a true record.
7. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
7.1 The Chairman highlighted some of the salient points from his Annual report which all branches have received.
8. TREASURER’S REPORT
8.1 The District Accounts had been sent out to all branches, there were no queries for Jim.
8.2 The District Benevolent Fund is held in the BFI by London and had generated some good interest during the year. Jim encouraged all branches holding excessive funds to open up a BFI account. Branch Officers have a duty to make best use of Chartable money.
9. ADOPTION OF REPORTS
9.1 The Reports were adopted by Conference.
10. GUEST SPEAKER
10.1 The Trustee from Wales, Noel Duston, gave a presentation on the work of the Legion which is attached to the minutes.
11. NOMINATION TO THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
11.1 Peter Kingston will go forward as the North Wales District nomination for the National Conference Committee and as the District Delegate for the National Conference 2012.
12. ELECTION OF DISTRICT COMMITTEE
12.1 There were 5 vacancies available for the District Committee, and there were 5 nominations who are now deemed automatically elected to serve for a period of 3 years:
Bill Delaney - Llanddulas Branch
Ted Evans – Ruthin Branch
Bill Thomas – Bangor Branch
Terrence Summers – Bala Branch
Carol Cathery – Ysceifiog Nannerch & District Branch
13. ELECTION OF DISTRICT VICE-CHAIRMAN
13.1 There were 2 nominations, Rick Zieba and Sharon Keatings. Following a postal vote Rick
obtained 12 votes and Sharon 10. Therefore, Rick Zieba is elected District Vice-Chairman.

14.1 There was only one nomination, Peter Kingston, who is deemed automatically elected to
serve a period of 3 years.

15.1Alan announced there were 6 District Certificate of Appreciation Awards for;

Ron Jones
Rick Zieba
Jim Tunney
The presentation of their Award Certificates would take place at the first full District Meeting . on a date to be announced.

15.2 Peter Kingston was presented with a Gold Badge., presented by Alan

15.3 Alun Jones of Nefyn branch and Alan Cathery of Ysceifiog Nannerch & District

branch were both awarded the National Life Memberships, presented by the Trustee

Noel Duston.

  1. CLOSING

16.1 Alan Cathery read out a list of people he wished to thank which are attached to the

minutes, before formally handing over the Chain of Office to Peter Kingston.

16.2 The National Anthems of England and Wales were sung.
16.3 The Kohima Epitaph was given in English by the Chairman and in Welsh by Ted Evans.
